Childhoods at a Cross Roads in Ghana: Growing up in the Shadow of Colonialism

A vibrant performance of poetry and music by Kweku Sackey (Sheffield-based frontman of Afrobeat group KOG and the Zongo Brigade) using traditional instruments to explore the impact of British colonial rule and missionary activities on childhoods in Ghana.Followed by a discussion between Dr Afua Twum-Danso Imoh (lecturer in Sociology of Childhood at the University of Sheffield) and Kweku Sackey, focusing on their own childhoods in Ghana.
