Details Margaret Thatcher promised to tackle rising crime and declining levels of law and order, yet during her period in office, crime continued to rise. Generation Right explores the role which the ideas central to Thatcherism had in shaping crime and responses to crime. The Q&A (discussion panel) will feature Andy Beckett, Andrew Gamble, Ruth Lister, David Blunkett and Stephen Farrall. A Festival of Debate event, hosted by not-for-profit social enterprise Opus Independents (which also publishes the Alt-Sheff "Localcheck" column in "Now Then" magazine).
