Green Day’s American Idiot

Tue 26 - Sat 30 Mar 2019, Lyceum Theatre, Tudor Square S1 1DA

Green Day’s rock musical American Idiot, in Sheffield during the 15th anniversary year since the original album came out. It is the story of "three boyhood friends, each searching for meaning in a post 9/11 world" with Green Day music and lyrics. Contains strong language and drug references, and presumably a bit of politics.

Lantern-making workshops for Sharrow Lantern Carnival

March/April 2019

This year the Sharrow Lantern Carnival is on Sunday 7th April. Anyone can make a lantern before the carnival, and these workshops are free. Materials are available, although donations are welcome.

Saturday and Sunday workshops: 1-5pm at the Old Junior School, South View Rd, S7 1DB. March: Sat 2nd, Sun 3rd, Sat 9th, Sun 10th, Sat 16th, Sun 17th, Sat 23rd, Sun 24th, Sat 30th, Sun 31st and Sat 6th April.

Tuesday evening workshops: 5-8pm at St Marys Church, Bramall Lane. March: Tues 12th, Tues 19th, Tues 26th, and Tues 2nd April.

Community Organisers South Yorkshire Meet-up

Tue 26 Mar 2019, 6pm-8pm, Sharrow Community Forum, Old Junior School, South View Rd S7 1DB

Community organisers, activists, and grassroots community groups across South Yorkshire are invited to get together at this event. An opportunity to showcase local community groups – particularly from Sheffield. Connect together and create a network, meet other people who are using Community Organising methods, discover new ways to work together, share ideas, successes and concerns.

There will be a free evening meal provided.

Community Organisers is a national, non-profit membership body, funded by the government to run training for community organising groups "transforming their neighbourhoods for good". Local members of Community Organisers feed into the national network.
