Course: Sheffield Activism - Rebellion to Cold War

A course on Sheffield´s long history of people´s activism, run by the WEA (Workers´ Educational Association). Tutor (and activist) Nigel Slack will cover the period 1500-1950 in this series of 2-hour sessions.

NOTE you can choose 3pm or 6pm start time. Fee £87.50, all details on the link below, including downloadable full course information sheet. The course is suitable for beginners or improvers, no pre-reading is required.

Tackling Financial Crises - Can we get it right next time?

Will the next financial crisis be handled with more of the same - austerity and bailouts? Or are there alternative and better options?

Graham Hodgson of Sheffield Positive Money Supporters Group will outline the orthodox justification for austerity and present two progressive alternatives: MMT's Job Guarantee Scheme and Positive Money's QE For People, and explain the reasoning behind them.

The event is free but a voluntary donation of up to £5 to cover costs would be appreciated.
