New performance by Third Angel, which was established in Sheffield in 1995. A "conspiracy-theory documentary-exposé detective story for the 21st century that asks: what aren’t you looking at?"

Course: Sheffield Activism - Rebellion to Cold War

Thu 17/24 Jan - Thu 28 Mar 2019, Voluntary Action Sheffield (The Circle), 33 Rockingham Lane, S1 4FW

A course on Sheffield´s long history of people´s activism, run by the WEA (Workers´ Educational Association). Tutor (and activist) Nigel Slack will cover the period 1500-1950 in this series of 2-hour sessions.

NOTE you can choose 3pm or 6pm start time. Fee £87.50, all details on the link below, including downloadable full course information sheet. The course is suitable for beginners or improvers, no pre-reading is required.

"Making Space"

An exhibition about squatting, trespass and housing direct action, by Sam Burgum, researcher at the University of Sheffield. Alternative radical histories of property ownership and protest from the Magna Carta to current day activist campaigns, well worth a visit.

(New Roots is a volunteer-run, non-for-profit community shop. It also features ethical local and Fairtrade products, organic fruit and veg, vegan and gluten-free refreshments, and activity space).

Extinction Rebellion weekly planning meeting

Mon 28 Jan 2019, 6pm, Union St co-working space, 18-22 Union St. S1 2JP

In the run-up to the declared Rebellion on the week beginning April 15th, (a mass protest about the state not dealing with the climate emergency), Extinction Rebellion Sheffield are meeting weekly. Newcomers are very welcome.

Shared vegan meal between 6-7pm (recommended donation £3) followed by meeting from 7-8pm for making plans on upcoming actions, community outreach events and fundraising.
